Saraswati Puja at Home - Day 9

Yesterday was the final night of the Navarathiri festival. It was the Saraswati puja. We paid respects to the Goddess of knowledge, learning and the arts. I celebrated it in my mom's home. My mom had made vadaai, nuts and chakkara choru (sweet rice). We took books that represent our profession/trade and placed them in front of the altar. Unlike the previous years where I always chose law books (since I am a lawyer), this year I chose a book on Tamil culture and heritage and placed that on the altar. I asked Saraswati to guide me as I embarked on this wonderful journey to learn more about my glorious Tamil history, people and literature. Following my father's footsteps I want to spread Tamil knowledge around the world with the same passion and dedication that my dad did as a Tamil professor.
